HDR-HC1 very soft at low light?

Hello,

I stumbled on this video footage comparing Z1 with HC1:
http://www.sundancemediagroup.com/ar...on_footage.htm

I know the Z1 is a better camera but the footage from the HC1 looks really soft, even without comparing it to the Z1. It's almost like it's just DV!? How come?

Second, is it true that those FX1's, Z1's and other expensive camera's have all better dynamic range? Judging from the footage above, it looks like the Z1 is better in that respect, but it could be that the HC1 is just a bit brighter exposed by default...

I believe it was done on full auto, in manual mode they are much closer.
Also this site is really good, http://www.fxsupport.de/02.html
In good light both HC1 and HC3 look better than FX1....!!!

HC1 will look very soft and grainy at medium to low light.

IT also looks grainy with the CineFrame effect because I think it takes over the exposure for that.
