black dot on my footage - HC7

Just bought a HC7 and notice a huge black dot appearing on my video footages it is only viewable at higher aperture around f8 and above...
looks like a dirt falls on the cmos but how is it possible?

I don't think it's on the CMOS itself, otherwise you would always see it, no matter the aperture. It's probably a speck or flaw on one of the lenses nearest to the aperture. I suggest exchanging it to get another camera or to get it serviced under warranty.

Black Scanning bars on shutter speed above 300

My HC7 is now "Hospitalised" in the "Sony Hospital" Found another problem too.. that is in indoor lighting when i try to increase shutter speed to 300 i see black scanning lines on the lcd screen.. but it looks fine is outdoor lighting.. any idea why?

I'm going to venture a guess you were dealing with "indoor" lighting that cycled at the same speed as the shutter (like 50/60hz "noise") - perhaps flourescents?

Did the problem show on tape and/or the viewfinder - I've noticed some horizontal "noise" on my LCDs - perhaps it's interference with how the LCD refreshes?

Just a couple WAG's, but I'm a tech in another life, so I've seen some strange things and am pretty decent at diagnostics...
