need for sony to re-engineer the led light and hd1000 mount shoe

Just got this hd1000 from b&h photo many things I like about it but... do NOT like this light to camera show interface.

It seems loose already just after a day..... can I squak to b&h will they ship anotherh out?

It may be just this particular camera
Help?

I have had my HD1000U since Spring of 2008 and also have noticed the shoe being a little "loose." I think it is the design of the mount. I have a monitor arm and invert bracket for my Ikan 8000HD and with the battery on, it seems to really stress the shoe, so I now tripod mount my monitor or use a superclamp on the tripod arm instead. I think it is one of the camera features that SONY cut back on to keep the cost down. So far, I have had no issues with it when using my interview light or wireless receiver, but it definitely seems less robust than it could be.

Ed - How did this work out for you? Mine continues to be just as loose as it was on day one. Any updates? Thanks.

so I put the sony led light on the back shoe it is now loose and soon will snap off...

this is a class problem.... we need to approach sony.

Is there anyone from sony here listening?

I normally have the highest priase and recommend for sony stuff but...... these shoes are crap... not as good as on the z1.....

Have you tried sending it in for repair? Is it still under warranty? Man that is awful about the screw...evil stuff, sorry to hear it. I would definitely send SONY a msg...
