MRC 1 in PAL Land

When I copy files from my MRC 1 into Premiere CS3 Project window, they come in with NTSC file format, which Prem. then quickly converts to PAL. I use the MRC 1 docking card reader)

I'm filming in PAL HD and I've checked the recording format which is PAL, so why do they come in with NTSC format (29.97 fps and Drop Frame Time Code)?

Cheers
Peter

Being so USA-centric Premiere assumes that all "unknown" video files are NTSC. Once Premiere has conformed the file then it acknowledges that the file is, indeed, PAL.

Thanks Mark, I was beginning to think I'd some setting set to NTSC. It was weired when I saw the file come in as NTSC and then start to change to PAL.
