"Bombs" restored for public viewing...

Due to repeated requests and continued misinformation, the music video "Bombs" by Charles Mahon, has been restored to its online status for public viewing...

It was been brought to my attention that many are claiming that the music video "At This Velocity" by Thursday, was shot with the Sony V1. I don't know where this rumor started or why it persists, but it is completely untrue. I shot "At This Velocity" using the Sony F900/3 and Zeiss primes.

"Bombs" is the ONLY completed music video that I shot with the Sony V1!

artist: Charles Mahon
song: "Bombs"
camera: Sony HVR-V1U HDV

I sincerely hope this puts an end to the confusion and requests. Though I highly doubt it...

Jon, The footage looks very nice.... as an artist what are your thoughts on the V1...

looks like it does fine with low light...

K.C. Luke August 13th, 2007 07:06 PM

That is great video sound thanks

Jon Fordham August 14th, 2007 04:21 PM

Ray,

Thank you. I'm glad you liked it. I wouldn't site this as an example of "low light" performance for two reasons... One, I actually used a considerable amount of light. And two, I pushed the gain up to 6db to get the exposure you see in the video.

Sorry, I don't consider myself an artist. And the last time I offered my opinion on this camera, it upset a lot of people. The only reason I'm venturing back into "forum" territory is to attempt to eliminate the constant emails I've been receiving from people (mostly from dvinfo.net) asking to see the video, and others claiming that the Thursday video "At This Velocity" was shot with the V1 (which it was not)...

K.C.,

If you're referring to the actual sound that is heard with the video, it should be noted that this is a music video. And the sound you're hearing is the actual album recording that was synced up with the video after it was cut together. The audio you hear was NOT recorded with the video.
