Hvr-V1u audio settings
 
I am newbie with this camera, please someone help me.
I will shoot a hdv 24pa, input1 a lavalier mic to take the person talking
input2 portable mixer a cd player (rca to xlr) music at the same time
i just want to know which are the settings of the camera
ch1-ch2 etc.....

Would it be easier to add the music while you are editing the footage later?
This way you can adjust the volume of the 2 sources and get a better mix...and plus you are going to lose quality of the music this way.

Jason is quite right, however if you are recording a live event it would be useful to record talent on one channel and recorded music on the other. Then you can adjust the mix in post. I would set the Lav input to mic and test the different trim settings for best recording level. The input for music needs to be set to line. The trim doesn't work on line input, so I would test it before the event.
