HVR V1 NOT true progressive

Been having problems working with 1080p25 shot with my HVR V1 which boasts 'true progressive' scanning. After many problems and much digging it seems that Sony are the only people who believe the footage is 'true' progressive.
According to Apple it isn't, FCP says it isn't, Compressor says it isn't. Turns out that it's a 'flavour' of progressive!! NOT true progressive and it must be treated as Interlaced.
Wish I'd know that several months ago.

I think this may explain what's happening:

Exacly! I'm not sure that anyone thinks it is an issue or not. That thread ends with how great the resolution is to begin with for the V1.
