V1 gone haywire

Anyone have a problem with their V1 and a prism going haywire, My V1 went haywire, they replaced the circuit board now they say a prism needs replacing, I wonder if there Is there anyway of the prism getting a electrical backcharge when a circuit board goes, I can't see how, but maybe someone has had a similar exp. Lucky for Extended warrantee.

the prism is just a piece of glass, except if you break it, it can't fail.

I know, I can't imagine what the hell they are talking about. I talked directly to Sony at an expo and he mentioned the circuit board, because I was getting stripes of the three colors of the cmos chips, blue, green red, he says he has never seen a chip go,
