2.35:1 anamorphic cine lens for V1
 

Does anyone know of one, maybe to fit a 35mm adapter?

I want to shoot cine aspect ratio live, not edit the footage in post.

since HDV is already 16:9, you just need to add a 16:9 adapter to get 2:35
Well , the less you can say about an anamorphic adapter is that it is ... soft ?
and since there is no electronic media supporting 2.35, i do not really see the point of having real 2.35 except if you transfert to 35mm film

I plan to transfer to film.

So if I add a 16:9 adapter to my camera (which is already 16:9) it should look like 2.35?

it will look like 2.35 anamorphosed to 16:9 wich is an exotic format.
it is not 2.35 anamorphosed to a 35mm window, but it is the closest match (quality wise) you can hope from a 16:9 video camera.
You will just need to uncompress the video to 2.35.
a 2.35 should be 21.2:9 so from 16 to 21.2 there is 1.325, so 1920x1.325=about 2540 pixel wide if you keep the 1080 height.

4:3 SD video is ratio 1.3333
16:9 HD ratio is 1.7777 so to pass from 4:3 to 16:9 you multiply(anamorphose) by 1.33333
if you use an anamorphoser over a 16:9 format, you multiply it by 1.3333 again.
this gives 2.37 ratio , a bit more than the 2.35.
1920x1.3333= 2560 pixel versus the 2540 that a 1.325 conversion needed for real 2.35
cropping the 10 extra pixels left and right should give you the exact ratio, while a doubt than somebody would see the difference if you leave them.

after it depends if the film transfer company can work from a 16:9 picture or from a 4:3 format or even from a 2.35 format.
for example you could flash a 35mm film from a 30" screen displaying a 2560x1600 picture and an optical anamorphoser.
you can flash the film directly in the 35mm format with an electronically anamorphosed picture.
the 35mm film is neither 4:3 nor 16:9
