Sony HDR-FX7 accessories

Im going to buy the Sony HDR-FX7 and need some accessories. A tripod, fisheye lens, case, and batteries. I would like to get a high quality fluid motion head tripod that isnt to expensive. Any ideas for one. Im thinking of a fisheye lens because i will manly be making snowboarding and skate vids. Any ideas for fisheye lens. I was looking at a pelican case. Any good ideas for a case. And batteries that will last a good amount of time. thxs

Hi Terry,

A good tripod match for this cam is the Libec LS-22. I think it's the best tripod in it's price range, but if you want something a bit cheaper the Libec TH-950 or TH-650 are also very good value.

I don't have experience using a fisheye lens on my FX7 but I've looked at getting one. The cheapest one I can find from a known manufacturer is the Raynox MX-3000 and XL-3000. The MX-3000 has a 58mm threads while the XL-3000 has a snap on-mount and a built in lens hood. Apart from that, a Century lens may be your only option - more expensive, but awesome quality. I've used a Century telephoto adaptor before and it was the best quality add-on lens I've ever used.

For batteries I just use el cheapo ones off ebay and I've never had a problem.

Hop this helps.

Terry,

Here is what we offer for the FX7:

Sony HVR-V1U & HDR-FX7 Attachments - Schneider Optics

The .3x is 70% wider than your existing lens with lots of barrel distortion. The other HD Fisheye Adapter is 50% wider than the existing lens. Both do not vignette.

I second John's comment on the batteries. I have always used cheap ones with no issues.

I know that it is a wide angle converter that you want, but if the quality of one of those matches that of the 2.0x tele-converter, it will be superb!
