Sony HVR-V1 with a lens adapter?

Hi,

Has anyone had a chance to test the V1 with a lens adapter like the RedrockMicro M2?

I currently own a JVC HD100 and Redrock adapter. I love my current combo, but I was really impressed with the raw 24p footage of the Sony HVR-V1 that I saw at DVExpo. I can't help but wonder what the footage of a V1 with a lens adapter would look like.

Obviously, I know that the combination of the V1 with a lens adapter will not compare to the quality of an XDCAM or HDCAM. But, I'm on an indie budget right now and I cannot afford XDCAM or HDCAM. Just wanted to see if anyone has had a chance to use a lens adapter with the V1 and what their impressions were of the combination.

Thanks,

Looks great, but since mine was tested using gaffers tape and rubber wedgies, it's not anything that I was thrilled about because I couldn't move the cam at all without something shifting. I didn't have a lens hood that would correctly fit the V1.

Thanks Douglas.

I've been impressed with the 24p footage from this camera. I can't wait to rent a V1 for a weekend, connect my Redrock M2 and do some test.

I ordered your VASST "Inside the Sony HVR-V1 and HDR-FX7" DVD a couple of days ago. I'm looking forward to watching it.

I bought the VASST dvd on the HC1 and I found it a great tool for training my staff. There is no doubt I will get one for the V1.

I have been on the fence about which cam to buy the SONY V1 of the CANNON A1. I have read everything I can find and I think I will be getting the SONY.

Three things that stand out about the SONY
1. Less vertical smear,
2. Large lcd,
3. HDMI

I don’t know when I will use it but I think the capture from the HDMI connecter will be an advantage in the future.

Does anyone know if there's a way to flip the image on the V1 when using an M2?

I've got the M2 and use it often with my FX1 with great results. I've ordered the V1 and will test it well with the M2 when I get my hands on it. I can't wait! i just hope B&H gets a lot shipped in early December.
