I do not, and sometimes, it is a problem. Despite that, I deal with the breaks, rather than wear out my camera...

Stipping the tape will not give you continous timecode, all it will do is give you timecode if somehow you leave breaks in on the tape after reviewing footage and then recue the tape slightly past the last record point.

When you record over the tape the timecode you have put on will be destroyed and new timecode will be layed down.

What i do to everyone of my tapes is preset my timecode to 01:00:00:00, do 30 seconds of bars on the top of it, and then switch back over to regen and go from there. Im not one to go back and check out the last take as thats not my style of shooting but if i do have to do i'll also either use edit search so bring me back perfect or just stop the tape before the timecode ends.

So far i've had no timecode breaks using this method for over a year.

I try to get into the habit of recording ten seconds of bars after each setup or at the end of the day so I have something I can back into and pickup the previous TC. This is of course with the TC generator set to Regen.
