up and down moving picture from V1E on a TV
 

I have to write it down, nobody will believe me

This morning I got a HDMI cable and connected it with the HDMI out of the camera and the HDMI in of a new HD-TV.
Then I focused an about 2 meter distant object.
A full zoom shot, adjusted the picture, with extended focus, as sharp as possible. Then I went and watched the picture on the new HD-TV. Picture is super, but ..............

Camera stands on a tripod; head is firm, no wind, since it is indoor.
Although I stand about 4 meters away from the camera, the picture on the TV doesn’t stands still. It moves vertically up and down, up to one centimetre. Only vertically, not sideways.
First I thought it is an earthquake or the house is shaking. (haha)

After I switched off “Steady shot”, the picture stops moving up and down.

Ever heard of this?

Our V1P sure doesn't do that!

Me thinks yours be broken.

The manual of all cameras I have used that has image stabilization says to turn it off while using a tripod. Now you know why. There must be something that can fool image stabilization when the camera is perfectly still.

Shifting light frequencies/reflections, for one thing.

That you have some flickering, if the camera stands on a tripod with >Steadyshot< on, is normal.
That was also the case with the older cameras; however this was not so noticeable. The Sensitivity of the cameras have improved in the course of the time, also image quality.

Generally the >Steadyshot< must be always be switched off, during use on a tripod, since minimum soil vibrations are passed on, over the tripod, to the camera and a conflict with the “Steadyshot” may occur
