RAYNOX HDP-6000EX High Definition
Wideangle conversion Lens 0.79X FOR THE FX-7 AN V1U etc. I found one site with a price list. The lens is listed $100 more than the Sony wide angle.

Only a .79x...I'm looking for at least a .6 or wider.

Seems like there aren't any that wide made for the V1 yet. Does anyone know of one?

I use quite a number of Raynox-es.
On the wide side I have the 6600 model (sorry I wont put here the full names, raynox tends to use too long names for its models). It is 0.6 wide and works perfectly with a stepring.
I ordered the Sony 0.8 lens - it is useless, almost no difference in the wide, I feel waste of money. Quite heavy, too.

The Raynox lenses have a "cheapo" feel as many of them built into plastic housing - but the picture quality is really good once the user follows some basic rules:

1. don't try to zoom if the lens is not designed for that (the 6600 is good if full wide, by zooming you can see soft edges

2. remove UV filter before attaching the lens: UV filter left on will result in vignetting

3. avoid extreme contrasts - fringe will most probably occur.

I also like the 2020 tele lens, much lower price vs the 9000, lighter and bigger magnification. No much zoom to the wide (otherwise vignetting or circular shape in the view)

I own some of the macros, but had no chance yet to try them.

Hope this helps.
