Timecode not running

Shooting Z1U. I was on a shoot last weekend and put a new tape in and ran color bars and noticed that the timecode was not running but I was capturing footage. I looked through my settings and everything seems to be set correctly for timecode. Any ideas on what is going on?

Thanks,
John

Are you sure yout TC/UB setting isn't set to UB? If the display is all OOs with no colons, that might be it. At least that's what it was for the last three people who had that problem here....

Is there a TC/UB toggle button somewhere other than in the TC menu page?

I suddenly have the same issue--all zeros, no colons, no TC--but none of the options in the internal menu seem to deal with an either/or display of TC versus UB, unless I'm just flat missing it!

OK...well, duh. Hard button on the camera, underneath the flip out viewfinder, bottom right hand corner..

I gotta get better bifocals. I spent a good deal of time trying to figure this out yesterday on a shoot. After owning this camera for 5 years, you'd think I'd have noticed that toggle button.
