Which settings should i use here?

HEY!

In a few of weeks I've to shoot an imagevideo in a club with the Z1E. I´m going to rent the Z1E and use a 20W headlight and (300W light for wide shoots if possible) and maybe a mattebox but not shure about the last one.

Would shoot in 50i (Europe) and HDV. Then cut it on the PC in DV.

Could someone give me some advice for settings or has even some complete setting for this light situation or could give me some video shooting tipps for this kind of locations because havent shoot in a club or so?

Light situation would be actually pretty familiar to THIS (> http://www.sunshine.at/neu/gallery.s...menu=club&act= or http://www.sunshine.at/neu/gallery.s...menu=club&act=) one here. But not so shiny and bright like it seems on the pics cause they are shooting the pics with a lot of light.

THANKS!

Going into an indoor setting with a Z1 make sure you get more lights than you think you will need because you will find out, you will need them. Also dont be afraid to shoot with +9 gain it looks fine but dont go any higher than that. I would be very carefull with filters also, if you use one you will be glad you brought more lights. Good Luck

I would advise you to shoot HDV and edit HDV instead of DV, only downconvert the finished video. If you shoot/edit HDV and you definitely know you will downconvert to SD, then you can go as high as +12 dB on the gain, it will still look almost perfect.

I would definitely turn on the black stretch as many of those kids like to dress in black, plus low light will make you loose detail in the really dark areas.

Have fun!
