New Z1U owner! Question for the regulars..

Hey guys..

I'm a semi-regular on the XDCAM board, but it looks like I'll be hanging out here for a while.

After my BRAND NEW V1U was stolen out of my car 3 weeks ago (in a brand new Kata bag, with a brand new lectrosonics trans/receiver and a brand new audio technica lav), I dove back in a got a Z1U. And yes...getting robbed is AWFUL.

Out of the gates, I want to get a clear filter on this bad boy to protect the lens.I don't want one that interferes with the built in lens cap or the lens hood. Can you guys make a good recommendation for me?

Thanks!

Harley,

THe Hoya Pro 1 digital UV fits perfectly - as does their clear filter. You can also use their circular polariser under the hood, but it is a bit difficult to turn.

All the best,

Z1u

Why did you go from an V1u to a Z1u. What benefits did you come up with over switching. Im starting a side business right now and I just bought a Z1u and I love it. I also love the V1u for what it does. I need to buy another camera and cant decide between the two. What have you come up with???
