Wedding videography and one simple question

I'm looking for changing to hdv cameras and I'm thinking about the z1 for weddings...

Would it be my best option? What about lowlight? I already have pd170, will I need much more lightening?

Now the simple question: What's the difference with the letters at the name: z1X ?

Thanks a lot

There will be not much of a difference, if any in low light compared to the PD.

The letters only show where the camera is sold, U for US for example. Since the Z1 works both PAL and NTSC it really doesn't matter.

Well, to be fair, the PD is faster, but the Z1 is cleaner under gain. So you can gain up to get similar low light capability from the Z1 without having an extremely noisy image.

So if I buy a z1 I would not feel so many diference at low lights?

I think you will feel that it's not as good in low light. But you can work around it by pushing the gain more than you would with a PD150, and sometimes by lowering the shutter speed to 30 for speeches or other stuff without too much action.

When you know pd's you lose your low lights parameters... Thats the point!

Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean by the sentence. Anyway, the Z1 is a better camera. The new Z7 could be a good option for you. Better in low light, interchangeable lenses, shoots on tape and cards. Check out the forum here:
