One of the links that I clicked on said the camera will be about $6,500 when released in November. I thought it was supposed to be around $3,700.

I hope it's not really going to be that much, because if it is I'll just have go ahead and get the DVX100A.

On page 4 of this hardware zone article, it states that the cine function "allows shooting in 25 fps PAL". On page six, it lists the video signals to include both PAL and NTSC.

Would this mean that only one version of the camera is being released worldwide - and that there is no point searching for info on a PAL version - which I have been doing pretty much in vain ....?

It says S$6,500. IIRC, that would be Singapore S$.

so again, would this mean the worldwide release is of one mode that is both pal & ntsc capable ... ?

Hmm, if Sony releases a NTSC/PAL able camera this might get interresting, especially from a film blowup perspective... I wonder, does this look like a possibility? What would be the interrest of that for the general public? It would have to be able to broadcast both signals either in SD NTSC or PAL and convert from one to the other...

looks like a different model after all ....

There will be only one pro model, and it will be switchable between PAL and NTSC.
