What camera settings are best for slow-mo? HDR-FX1

gonna slow it -100% in vegas and need it to be smoooth as butter.

Im doing a music video. Going for a look when I film the singer- I have him sing at twice the speed. then I slow it down -100% in post. The result is a normal speed singer but everything else around him is going in slow mo, like rain or people in the background going slow.

A big band did it before, but I cant remember who it is.

any ideas?

hi

what is twice the speed ..you mean shutter speed?

Thanks

the singer will sing at 200% speed. ie: he will sing really fast for the camera- it will look silly when filming, but when I slow it down it will look normal, but his surroundings will be in slow-mo.

Does that clear it up?

Shoot in normal 60i mode, and consider using a shutter speed of 1/120th. When you slow it down to 50% speed Vegas will make one frame out of each field, so your resolution will be lower, but your important concern is smoothness, and this will give you the smoothest look.

Whatever you do, don't use CineFrame 24 or CineFrame 30, those won't slow down nearly as smoothly as just plain 60i will. And 50% is the speed that will slow down the smoothest.

thanks for clearing it up and thanks Barry ...as always
