I second this question...can anyone tell us where?? I have a Z1.

Ben Chancey February 16th, 2005 11:53 AM

Maybe this is not what you are looking for but, BH Photo has the polarizer, UV filter pack 72 MM. I was ordering it with a Z1

Christopher C. Murphy February 16th, 2005 12:49 PM

Hi Ben, I was looking on there and couldn't find that...can you link it?

Ben Chancey February 16th, 2005 03:23 PM

Ask and you shall receive.

I would think the SCHNEIDER filters would be of higher quality.

And I was told today that you can screw this polarizer on top of the UV filter and you cannot see it even at full wide.

Thanks Ben and Greg!

But, I'm confused now...Greg, you said that the SCHNEIDER might be "higher quality"? They're way less expensive, so I'm trying to figure out why! Any more information you can share? I'll order them if it's true, but I don't understand the huge price difference...

[slight OT rant here]

Does anyone ever order from EVS? I checked them out because they are a sponsor here. Their prices are fair. I actually had a very big shopping cart full of stuff this week, but didn't go through with it because their shipping fees are OUTRAGEOUS! I just added those 2 filters to a cart and checked the shipping...$10 That's a lot for 2 items that will weigh 13-16 ounces total when packed.

If they would be more realistic with shipping I'd consider giving them my business...but not til then

[/rant]

Sean, contact them directly or talk with Chris Hurd here. I'm sure there is a reasonable explaination. Where do you live?? You might be far away from CA?

I can't say for sure that Schneider is actually higher quality because I have no idea who makes the lenses for Sony but I doubt the Sony is better even though it is more expensive.

Schneider = Century Optics so......I am buying their product.
