what's with the blur when you pan???

Hello everyone,

Love the Z1U camera. Picture wuality is amazing. But just one question:

Now I know you should never pan with a video camera. But can anyone tell me why panning seems to blur the picture with the Z1U??? My VX2000 didn't seem to have this problem. Is it because of that ghosting issue, that you get a blurry picture when you pan rapidly with the Z1U?

Is it a question of shutter speed?
Would the blurring be less noticeable at a higher shutter speed?

Thanks in advance,

- Nicholas

This is a situation that occurs when using Steady Shot. Go into the menu and "play" with each of the settings.

I really dont see any blurring when I am panning with the Z1.

I have some questions about Steadyshot anyway in another thread here. Could someone please explain or link some information about it ? When to use and when not, how it works, and what are the 3 types.

Unfortunately the Z1 manual always just tells you from what you can choose and not what it means :(

Thanks

Peter
