Z1P Capture fail with DV into FCE
Hey guys,
I own a Z1P and can't work out how to capture DV footage I have shot into FCE4 correctly. Each time I try I get the error message "Capture encountered a problem reading the data on you source tape. This could be duet to a problem with the tape. Capture has been aborted and your clip has been saved." I know my tapes are fine so can't work out why this is. My easy setup is set; DV-PAL Any help would be much appreciated Cheers |
Re: Z1P Capture fail with DV into FCE
I tried putting my easy setup on DV-NTSC, and that worked perfectly?
How can I be recording in NTSC. I'm in Australia and thought I was shooting PAL. In the corner of my camera it reads DV - SP - 60i. I've been told 60i is an American format. Is that the case and why I can capture using an NTSC standard? Cheers |
Re: Z1P Capture fail with DV into FCE
The Sony Z1 was a "world cam", which means, it's switchable between 50Hz and 60Hz formats. Just check your settings in the camera: I am sure, you accidentally set your Z1 to 60i - great for working in the USA or Japan, but less than ideal in the rest of the world. Change it back to 50i and you are fine again for the next tapes.
