Those Zeiss lenses installed in Sony DV cmarea and digital camera are produced by Sony factories. Only few samples will be sent to Carl Zeiss to test with Zeiss standard.

So what Sony claims to offer Carl Zeiss lens to her DV camera and digital camera is misleading. It should be stated that Carl Zeiss designed but Sony manufactured lens is installed in Sony camera.

When I buy Rodenstock or Schneider lenses for my view camera, I don't expect to use other manufacturer's lens under the label of them.

I suppose it's like Cameras saying they Pro when they are Not. They have been using kiddology for years, and I am sure it has made them Loads of money, it makes the salesmans job easier by giving them the Buz words to confuse the average user! and helps to sell more cameras. I am sure in the end they end up believing it themselves.
