delayed recording z1

does the z1u have delayed recording, say to capture a sunset or sunrise? What kind of filter would you use?

is the uv filter acceptable to protect the camera? or is this better

When you say 'delayed recording', do you mean timelapse? Best to shoot sunsets and such-like in real time, then speed up in post. That way you can smoothly vary the frame rate and not have to decide frame rates on the wind-swept mountain top.

If your camera genuinely needs protection (from dusty atmospheres, sticky-fingered children etc), then do consider fitting a UV filter. Make sure that this new front element has the very finest super multi-coating you can buy though.

For all other times don't use a filter. It's degrading, unnecessary and reduces the efficiency of your stock lens hood.
