z1 + ring light - 2006 version - watch it!

More than a year ago I posted a video using a ring light, shot with a PD-170. I decided to test my new Z1 and made the video again. Same music but a way better color correction. The kid, my brother, is now 4yo and can do better tricks.

Hope you like it.

do not SAVE TARGET AS. click on the link and there you can download the video or watch it.

Cheers!

I like it!

Did you color corect? Very nice colors!

Itīs working again!

Yes, I did a little CC on AE. Duplicated the layer, changed the curves, added a warm filter and added sharpness -- all on top layer. The I used the mode OVERLAY and set the opacity to something between 50% and 70%. Canīt remember now.

Thanks. Quite complex. But it looked that way ...

It'll work every day until the daily bandwith limit is reached.

It looked like a nice soft light. Nice video.

The only thing that was unusual that caught my eye is that, in some of the really close shots, you could see the "C" shaped ring as a reflection in the kid's eyes. The "C" shape looked a little strange as a reflection since we're so used to seeing only a single spot for the eye-light reflection. Is it possible to turn the ring light so that the gap in the C is at the bottom of the light rather than on the side?

Nice!
Bill

william, youīre right about the C. the problem is that this cheap light has a plastic connection right in the middle of the ring. but, YES, you can turn the light so that the gap is in the bottom. maybe next time I remember to do that. Thanks!

Is this light mainly used for close-ups and product photography? Just wondering because I'm looking for a good on-camera light.
