I dont see a reason the Fx1 wouldnt be good for wedding shots aside from the lack of xlr. I have had friends that are known to mic the groom, you might want to grab a beachtek if you wanna get nuts with the audio for the weddings.

It a peice of equipment you can pruchase that allows you to use proffesional audio equipment that use a type of plug named XLR on the HDR-fx1's Mic which is a 1/8 sterio mini plug.

PC needs to be as fast as possible. Lots of memory - lots of disk space. Have one disk system for capturing, another as a work/rendering disk.

If you're capturing from a FX1 - all you need is firewire and I'd be amazed if you can buy a decent computer without firewire.

To be exact you need 3ghz or proccessing power and I would say about 2gb of RAM atleast.

A Dual Core 3.0ghz with 1gb of Ram has been working out perfectly for me and should be fine for your needs.

I dont think Ulead will cut it, Vegas should alot of Sony users love Vegas. I dont know much about video cards but I would say you need atleast 128mb video card but I would recommend 256mb.
