shutter speed question
 
Hello

how can i have high shutter speed in low light it seems if i have the shutter speed high the picture is dark i have put the gain all the way up and its the same

so how is one suppose to shoot fast moving objects in low light

is it possible

Jim,
The CCDs in your camera will always give a correctly exposed image at a set amount of light - which is always a constant.
Controlling the incoming light to the CCDs can be done by either the iris or the shutter speed - or the gain switch.
Therefore, since shutter speed is a function of the exposure control as much as lens aperture, if you're struggling for the correct exposure indoors anyway and you've used up all the gain, you will just have to add light to the subject.
There just isn't any other magic way.

So you are saying if i want to have the camera set to the highest shutter speed for fast moving action i will need a very well and bright subject
