3.5 mm Stereo to 2x XLR
 

I have a Sony ECM-MS907 mic that has a Stereo out on a 3.5mm jack.
I've only find a RODE model but it's 1 channel only.

Is there for sale an adapter from the stereo mini-plug to 2x XLR out's ?
Can I get the proper connections in order to make the cable?

I am not sure what you want, but if it's a mini-plug to two XLR adapters, what's called an Y cable, I think B&H and other suppliers sell it.

To make the cable, which is what I should do, get a metal cased gold-plated stereo 1/8" plug, 50cm of good thin stereo cable and two male XLR-3 connectors (Switchcraft or Neutrik).

On the 1/8" plug end, solder the cable shields together and to the ground metal. Then the signal wire left channel to the plug's tip and right channel to the plug's ring.

On the XLR ends, make the ground wire longer and solder it to pins 1 and 3; then the signal wire to pin 2. Check continuity with a DMM meter.

That's it.

My usual advice is to leave that cable always plugged in on what you are going to use it, like a camera, audio recorder, etc. 1/8" jacks tend to lose contact due to continuous plug/unplug.

Is it ok?
The 1/8" is a female and the 2 XLR are male.

For some strange reason I do not find these kind of cable for sale.
Only with a 1/8" male.

I've never seen a made up adaptor with female 3.5mm, and xlrs with the pin 1+3 link, so it will be a solder job! The alternative is to permanently put the xlrs onto the mic cable - but maybe you don't want to do this. 3.5mm 3 pole plugs are not the most reliable in the world, and come apart very easily.

Me - I'd cut the 3.5 off, and solder on a couple of XLRs with a short link cable.

Mini to XLR
 

Hi Carlos,

I use a mini to XLR all the time. I get most of my cable gear at Guitar center but you can get them anywhere. I use mine with my wirelss transmitter. I tie the signal from a sound board into my wireless transmitter. Then I plug the mini into my wireless receiver and the two XLR's into my Z-1. I also plug the Stereo outs directly into my firewire interface and record at 24bit into my MBPro. I do this since the Z-1 only records 16bit.

I will have to build the cable.

No, you will not find any 1/8" female cable with XLRs. But you may find 1/4" cables ready-made.
