Anycast Mixer with a couple of Z1U CameraS!!!
 

Does anybody have any experience with a couple of Z1U cameras with a Sony ANYCAST mixer.

If so what do you think?

Could everybody please post what mixer you use for the Z1U.

Our church needs to buy one next week.

We would like on that could output both HD and SD.

Having been a long time user of Edirol products (and I have never had a bad one) I can see no reason why the 440HD wont suit you down to the ground.

It will accept and output HD and SD signals out of the box for about $12,000 US as opposed to the Anycast's $17,500 which will not deal with HD signals out of the box.

If you want the title generation the Edirol will accept input from a common PC/Laptop SXGA HD15 signal. As for recording/encoding you can either use the SD signals via a trusty canopus ADVC55/100/whatever analogue > firewire converter (my preference for SD at the moment as it records direct to DV with open source software) or any other video capture card in a regular PC or Mac. HD signals are also catered for with something like the Black Magic Intensity http://www.blackmagic-design.com/products/intensity/ or do a forum search for how others are using theirs.

Basically it comes down to this the $12k V-440HD + $5k PC/Mac gear will cost you the same as a stock Anycast, will do HD Mixing, Recording and Encoding for web where as the Anycast will only do SD.

Go buy the Edirol, you wont be disappointed.
