What accessories are available to extend the front hot shoe?

The front hot shoe is too close to the flip out LCD monitor. Can you guys show me some accessories that are made to extend or move the attachment for the hot shoe?
Is their a custom shop that makes accessories for cameras?
Thank you

Something like this?

Nice Edward. Haven't see that before.

When using that extension bar your cam is likely to become front heavy. I find my FX1000 is already front heavy when I have things on the shoe.

I hate the LCD/shoe conflict, but I have leaned to work around it.

thej-rod.com

Would this help? Found it on the XHA1 board.

Also in the case of microphones, look up a Rode SM-5.

Hope this helps--

I use this PAG Accessory / Extender Arm Short (1020) - Warehouse Express supplied by PAG UK the battery and on-camera light people.

I would also recommend http://www.warehouseexpress.com/prod...px?sku=1020401 which is also on the B & H site - it has a horizontal and a vertical hotshoe.

You could always rotate the one I linked to 90 degrees so it sticks out the side, rather than the front, as long as it doesn't interfere with the mic mount.

This was an issue I also noted early on after trying out the camera. I now have to mount Radio mic receiver sideways. Also a problem when you want to fit a light.

If you don't want to go down the road of using an extension then it's likely that you may have to leave the lcd screen exposed between shots. May be worth fitting something like a mobile phone sock over the screen to protect it when not in use.
