Anyone use a uv filter/lens protector?

Hi guys, another quick question.

On all of my previous (non HD) cameras (VX2000, PD150 etc...) I've always use a UV filter/lens protector to protect the lens. Just the basic cheap kind you'd get for £5 from eBay.

Does anyone use a filter/lens protector for their z5 or fx1000?

Do you need to get a special 'HD' kind or will any piece of clear glass with the right diameter do the job?

As always, thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Cheers

James
