Some Pics of My Microphone Setup

I needed something that sounded better and resisted wind better than the stock setup, so I fabbed this up.

Microphone is a Sennheiser ME64 with K6 module.

can't resist asking, do you get hair in the gate?

Not sure what you mean by "gate". The LCD closes fine. The microphone is fully 'floating' inside the holder like the factory mic would be.

sorry, it's an old film term that was used when shooting 'naked scenes' - all that hair, etc,.

that said, pretty nifty setup. nothing showing on full wa?

in my experience though, i usually boom if possible, or wireless if not. i find for reasonable framing i have to move far enough away that an on camera mic isn't normally going to cut it.

that said, for run and gun it might work very well....

That hair keeps my hand cozy warm in the winter!

There's no fur on WA. It doesn't stick out much further than the stock mic. Booming is definitely best, but for what I do, it's run and gun. Most of my shooting is fairly close to the camera. Kinda hard to see, but there's wireless on other side of blimp ..on top of the hotshoe.

i see it - the wireless. missed it first time round.

i presume you run and gun off a tripod - i'd hate to have to hold that setup for too long ;-)
