I was wondering sense this camera captures full resultion, down converts to hdv in camera, could a person use an Intensity pro capture card to capute full res and avoid using the firewire totally??

You can do it live off the HDMI, but once recorded it is in HDV & the "extra" video is lost.

So if you can be attached to your computer when you shoot, you can get much higher quality video through an Intensity card than on tape. Although you lose TC when going through the HDMI port.
