turn off display?

other than flipping the lcd open, is there anyway of assigning a kill display (NOT marker) to one of the buttons?

i rarely shoot with the lcd, and do need the screen info most of the time, but at others would like a clean screen for framing.

No. According to page 67 (US Manual), CAM DATA DSP is not assignable. In the DISPLAY SET menu, only ZEBRA, PEAKING and MARKER are assignable to buttons. You have to kill the data via the DISPLAY SET menu.
