DSLR lens compatibility to Z7U

If this has been covered already, I apologize. However, having looked back into the 4 pages of information, I dont see where "Z7U and DSLR lens compatibility" has been fully or recently explained.

That said, can someone(s) explain to me what I need or if it's even possible for me to use my Nikon lenses work on a Z7U??

Thanks
Jake

There will be some adapters released but you won't be able to get the same shallow DOF you can achieve on your DSLR with a 35mm lens.

Basically what the Nikon F-Mount (or Canon, Minolta etc.) to 1/3" mount adapter will do is put a 7x magnification factor on the lens.

So a 50mm 1.8 Nikon lens will now be a 350mm 1.8 Nikon lens.

Rather worthless unless you are shooting wildlife or some other kind of telephoto videography.

The first product at the top of the page.

There shouldn't be any resolution loss, just a magnification factor of 7x.

There is that, but 35mm adapter makers like Cinevate and Letus are making relay lenses for the JVC HD100/200, which has the same mount as the Z7 and S270, which would allow you to replace the stock lens with the relay lens and then put on the respective 35mm adapters on the front of that and then you'll be able to use any Nikon lens natively with no magnification as well as there being less light loss compared to simply using the stock lens with the 35mm adapter like you can do right now.

Do you know when that is happening? How much it would cost? Do you have any links?

thanks

I am buying an adapter from Mike Tapa in London. His price is 200 pounds shipped. His company is linked above.

I have heard that the Cinevate and Letus adapters wont be available in the US for 1-3 months...

I can wait to get an adaptor and put my classic 1980's Nikkor 105mm f2.5 on it, I also have a 50mm f1.4.

Well, I just found out about these things myself. All I can tell you is to just keep checking the Letus and Cinevate websites and their forum sections to see any updates on their progress.
