Alpha mount adapter

Has anyone seen the Sony SLR Alpha mount adapter for the Z7 / S270 for sale yet? Or any info on it?

ability to mount the old minolta lens is nice if you have some, but on such a small chip they are very long, great for some telephoto work.

Since the stock lens is only 12x I'd like a cheap way of having a longer telephoto lenses.

I already have an old Minolta 35mm SLR & lenses, so I've been waiting for this adapter.

Where did you get the Nikon mount from and how much was it?
What magnification does it have?
Any light loss?
Any other problems, i.e. strain on the camera body with long Nikkor lenses?

Thanks

Its a mike tapa mount and gives X7 magnification so the 70-300mm lens is a 490-2100mm on the Z7.

I can not see any light loss and it works great, I did a moon shot here:http://www.vimeo.com/1034579

And you can order the adaptor from MTF services here:http://www.mtfservices.com/

I paid £217 delivered inc vat

Thank you, it looks like an intersting addition to the camera, especially as I have 18 Nikon lenses.

It is very well made and you will not be disapointed with the resulting footage, I originally got it to use my nikkor 50mm f1.4 and 105mm f2.5 but have found that the more modern zoom lens works fine as well.

A couple of my other zooms from my D300 arent as good but for most of the lenses it is fine.

I have a Nikkor 500mm f8 Mirror lens and also wanted, by coincidence, to film the moon.

I am waiting for my Z7 to arrive, but have been using my own Canon XL1s and XH A1 for some time, but after two recent jobs with the Xl1s the tape let me down so I was looking for a tapeless option, the interchangable lenses comes as an added bonus. I have looked at a FireStore drive, but this seems to be a total RIP off - £900 for a 80gb drive, no thanks.

I have a Nikon 50mm 1.4 lens that I just purchased for my D300. Obviously with the mount it will fit the camera, but has anyone had problems with their lens seeing the handle or microphone?

I dont think there is any chance of that as the X7 magnification will make even a 50mm lens 350mm.

Vincent,

Thank you for the compliment. We are planning on changing the site very soon. We are shooting everything in widescreen format, but the site only supports a 4:3 window. The new one will look much better. I would love to switch to a blog format, but I haven't seen anything that I like yet.

Is Sony going to release their own adapter anytime soon?
