Z7 - Recording in super slo mo to CF card

Can this be done?

Im sure i did this when using a hire camera a few months ago, but now I cant seem to record my super slo mo clips to CF card. Records fine to cf and tape normally, but in super slo, it records only to tape

Card im using is 133x speed

Im recording in 1080i, the camera and CF unit are set up in synchronous mode. In ext rec only mode, it even greys out super slo mo from the menu.

Do I need a faster card, or is this just a limitation of the technology? From a workflow point of view, it would just be easier if i can record super slo clips to cf card. I wont use the feature that often, but it would be nice

My Z7U manual (page 105) states that the slow record mode will NOT work under the following circumstances:

1. If HDV record mode is set to progressive.
2. If HDV record mode is set to interlace and scan type is set to 24, 24A, or 30.
3. Record Control Mode is set to EXT ONLY
4. Scan type of DV Progressive is set to 24 or 30.
5. During Color Bars.

In other words, the slow record mode will only work if set to:

HDV 1080/60 Interlace Scan
DV 60 Interlace Scan

And yes, it can be recorded only to the CF recorder, but you will have to set the Record Control Mode to Synchronous or Relay Mode, but you will have to put up with the flashing tape icon if you don't insert a tape into the camera.
