TC difference between HDV + SD conversion

I played around with the realtime SD conversion via Firewire ("iLink HDV->DV") and just found that if you do a conversion to SD your timecode will be shifted + 1s04f on the same frame compared to the original HDV timecode.

See

(big sized pic is SD converted pic, PiP is the HDV original)

Just in case anybody uses that feature with a timecode list or EDL ...

solved by testing

First: The Z7 is not guilty at all.

I today found that my capture application HDVSplit produces faulty emedded TC in the m2t files. (see other thread).

After using Vegas Pro 8´s internal Capturing Tool (HDV , DV) I experienced that the timecode is absolutely ok - both in the HDV and the DV file.

Though I like the tool, I´ll abandon HDVSplit from now on from my harddrive...

Sorry for the confusion, hope this helps if anybody is in the same multicam business...

Uli
