please post your adapter results

I am having trouble with my EA-50 and lens adapters. I have had intermittent problems with the Metabones MarK II adapter. I have a Sony LA-EA2 that only works on AC power and not battery power.

These problems seem to be related to MY EA-50 and not the adapters. I have contacted Sony to inquire about the power issue and am waiting for a reply. I have done extensive testing with the help of Metabones on their adapter. It seems to be my camera body.

Would everyone please post their own results with lens adapters to assist me in my testing. I am still trying to find out if this problem is inherent in the EA-50 or if mine is a unique case?

Steven,

As I mentioned earlier, I'm using the Metabones adapter with no issues yet.

I've used it with several lenses and they all seem to work fine.

Hope this helps, if you have a specific question or test I can do, let me know

Ed

Hey Ed,

I am glad your still around. It was your Christmas videos you shot with the Metabones that inspired me to try it. I have tried two of them now and both have the same issues. My glass is in great condition and it is all Canon "L" series but it is a little old. I bought most of my lenses between 1993 and 2000. Are any of your lenses from that era?

Does your glass work in Green Mode and Advanced Mode?

Thank You,

Steve

Hi,

I'm using the Metabones Smart II with different glass with success.
Despite AF (no AF with my lenses), the adapter works quite good without any problems.

I use my old Tokina 28-70/2,8 ATX-Pro, Canon EF50/1,8 (Version1), Canon 80-200/2,8L (black Version) and the Tokina 17/2,8 ATX-Pro.

With the Tokinas I had to "calibrate" the adapter.

If you need any help, just ask but it seems that your EA50 is the problem...
