Wonder how this Profile would work?

Hi Guys

I have used FS100 profiles before on the EA-50 and this one looks quite interesting! Might be worth trying out on the EA-50. He calls it GLog Ultimate and it uses the complete dynamic range of the camera ..I think I would initially bump up the detail level and the colour level just a tad though. It certainly doesn't have any issues with shadow detail and is remarkably noise free for indoor shots.

Anybody want to try it ? I found it quite interesting that the author actually changes the black level in different scenarios prior to shooting using the histogram

I'll give it a whirl Chris but after my busy period - I'm still using PP3 as at least I know how to work with it!

Thanks Pete

I dialled it into PP1 today and shot some stuff and I must admit it looked a little contrasty to me ..Must be the Cinetone2 gamma settings?? I'm also still running PP3 except I take my Black Level from zero to -2 cos if you look at the Histogram on the camera the black level at zero is quite a long way from the left edge and even at -2 blacks are hardly pushed at all but definitely better. I still have my colour level at +2 ..+3 is great for outdoors but a tad heavy on skin tones indoors so I figured it's easier to just lift outdoor shots rather than de-saturate indoor one.

On this G-Log profile it gives you pretty intense colour so to get the same as PP3 you need to drop colour level right down to -3 ....The black level says "variable" in other words adjust it in the field ..yeah right we have time to do that at weddings? Leaving black level on zero is way too heavy so I found a level of +3 was pretty nice ...zero is too intense !! You are supposed to adjust the black level manually so on the histogram it just touches the left hand side but while adjusting the PP the histogram is blocked so it's way too time consuming.

Try it once your wedding rush is over! I realise it's your busy season ..mine only begins next month!!
