Using Nexus 7 as a video monitor for Sony NEX-VG-20?

Howdy. I was thinking about getting a Lilliput field monitor, but before I do, I want to know if anyone has any success using the Nexus 7 (or any Android tablet) as a field monitor for the Sony NEX VG20.

I recently examined the Nexus 7 in Taiwan where they are made. There was no HDMI input so how would you connect it to a VG20?.

If you need a field monitor at all, look at this one: US Ship Feelworld 7" Hdmi Peaking Filter Video Field Monitor ON Canon 5D Mark II | eBay

At US$140, is has an impressive list of features including focus peaking and the all important 'blue check'

I'm tethering my Nikon D600 to a Nexus 7 running DSLRDashboard app via usb connection or via wireless with a TP-Link mobile router. The screen on the Nexus 7 (2013) is quite nice and not only provides a liveview from the camera but controls most parameters (including
touching the screen to activate focus in that area). I'll be using it in
a one man/two camera operation.

So if your camcorder has a tethering option, it might be a consideration.
