SportsFest and my NX5U

Here is some footage I shot with the NX5U using the slow motion feature at the races, sorry about the footage, I forgot my Monopod and had to shoot handheld...

Great footage even handheld looks good, what settings/set up did you use to achieve slo mo and keep the picture quality so good. i tried it with my NX5e and the results were a bit noisy/grainy.

Re: SportsFest and my NX5U

Basically NX5U is set to auto and using the 3 second slow motion mode...anything above 3 seconds degrades the footage to much....I also used the NewBlueVideo Essentials V5 color fixer pro with the setting ( Add Pop) In Vegas 10 Pro which helped add a bit of flare to the picture .
I have found several picture profiles from this forum that I am now playing around with and find them quite usefull in providing better looking footage ....

Thanks for reply, i used it on 12 seconds so that is probably why my footage was inferior to yours, more practice needed i think.

Would it be rude of me to suggest overriding the auto exposure by a stop or two?

Re: SportsFest and my NX5U

I think what happens is that the glare coming from the water throws out the metering in terms of how much light the camera thinks there is ... and the exposure kept down a bit too much, resulting in footage where you can't see the skin tones and other detail.

See how you go with another test shot. Always a good thing to learn about.

Andrew
