Wow, terrific pricing! If you'd told me a couple of years ago that you'd be able to get a camera with these features at this price point I'd never have believed you.

All we need now is a shoulder mount version to replace the discontinued XL Canon series. Congratulations Sony

Mark & Pete, have either of you seen the Australian Pricing yet? I have a bad feeling it will come in at around $12-15k locally.

At least being a world model with 50/60hz switchability means we can still order it from the US, and with GST/import taxes it will still come in uder $10,000.

Here we go again .. the 4k software upgrade will probably cost $2000 more, then next year it'll come with the cam.

Cheers.

Retailers in SE Asia and certainly Australia dont seem to have any idea when this camera will be available or they dont care.

And they wonder why people buy overseas, greed is good they say.

No. It's the same 18-200 kit lens as on the FS100.
We can assume Sony will make a servo zoom lens, eventully.

I went to a presentation here in Atlanta a couple of days ago and asked the Sony rep if this was going to be a repeat of the S-Log scenario. He said the 4k upgrade was going to be free but you would need the recorder to handle the data coming out the back end. Which third party vendors will be able to record the 4k 12 bit data stream?

Then add 4k for the new sony recorder to enable the fs700 to record in 4k so the camera gets close to 15k

My reference above was about the F3. I paid $3.7k for S-Log right before they started giving it away.
