More good FS700 news....
 

Remember the 18-105 F4 zoom lens? Everything about it was nice....no extension, nice
range, great autofocus, good OSS. But that distortion....yikes! Well apparently Sony
will be releasing a free upgrade for the FS700 'hopefully this fall', according to Juan Martinez
of Sony. The upgrade will fix distortion on Sony zoom lenses for the FS700. If so, I will
purchase that lens again....I returned it after the distortion was so bad on my FS700.

Also Juan says Sony is developing high quality Emount zoom lenses for the Sony
FS700....and some are F2.8, so he's not only referring to the new 28-135F4 lens.
As a very happy FS790 owner, this makes me even happier that I chose this camera.
The Emount gives autofocus and OSS which can be vey nice at times. Big thanks to Sony
for continuing to develop improvements for the FS700. With the Odyssey 7Q now out,
I think this just may be one of the all time classic cameras just so much it can do for the price...

Most of the video is about F5/55 but the end has FS700 news...

Yesssss! Excellent news.

Parfocal, Constant Aperture, PROFESSIONAL zoom lenses. He's even admitted that their existing E-Mounts are cheap!

I'm glad it's a free user downloadable firmware upgrade as well. Hope they add a few extra updates that they forgot to mention!

I'm not sure how they're going to do that, but here's hoping the firmware uses the full sensor size ie 4k 17:9 to pull the data off instead of cropping down the 18mm wide angle.

At NAB 2014 I had the opportunity to interview Juan Martinez at length about the FS700 firmware upgrade and the E-mount and FE-mount ecosystem.
