<<<-- Originally posted by Ignacio Rodriguez : Hi. My sister is travelling to the Vancouver BC area in a few days and could bring me back a WA adapter for my PDX10. So I could use some advice in terms of buying a good WA for about US$200, from a trusted source, should be in the 0.5 to 0.65 range and hopefully should fit in the Sony hood that comes with the cam. Since I live in the third world and good WAs are not easily available here, a good WA can be a great added value to my kit and it's great that my sister can bring one back but she will not be able to test it, compare several and so on. Any suggestions? -->>>

Hey Ignacio
Here is a list of my favourite places in Vancouver for camera/video equipment:

Leo's Camera - Vancouvers best(imho) camera store, and also deals in video.
604-685-5331
www.leoscamera.com

Lorne Lapham - Caters to professional video production, also a Sony dealer.
604-298-3224
www.llsr.com

Both places are extremely knowledgable, and are A+ in terms of customer service. They'll be happy to answer any of your questions over the phone, although I think only Lorne Lapham take email enquiries. The only drawback is that they are probably the most expensive places to buy from. You might find you get much better prices from our forum sponsors.

Hope this helps, if you have any other questions, let me know. I can e-mail or fax your sister maps if she needs to get to either.

Thank You Dylan so much for the info.

Leo's Camera carries the Century .5x Zoom-Thru Converter (37mm). I have read mixed comments about Century's line. It seems some products are great and some are not so great and they are all usually expensive.

Lorne Lapham seems to carry the the Sony VCLHG0737X, which should be great as well as Kenko and Red Eye. I guess the Sony is probably a good (but expensive) buy, Kenko I don't have reasons to trust and Red Eye seems expensive and it is not clear it will work with the PDX10.

I will be contacting them to check on pricing and availability and other options. Thanks again.

No problem Ignacio. Glad I could help.

The 0.5 referred to in Leo's Camera does not appear on Century's web site. Weird. Aside from that one, it boils down to choosing between the Sony high grade 0.7 and the the Century Optics 0.65, which are both available from Lorne Lapham in Vancouver and quite expensive but trustable. If any of you care to voice on the choice, that would be great. Juan, who is a member of the board and lives in Vancouver might be able to visit the stores and try both or even all three with his PDX10 but he might not have the time so any advice I can get will be very welcome.
