TRV 950 Headphone Jack Question

Has anybody here used their TRV950 Headphone jack to monitor sound while recording?

I have a funny problem. My headphone jack works fine during playback, but doesn't work while recording. I've verified that the headphones are fine, sound is actually getting to the tape, everything seems to work except that I can't monitor the sound during the shoot.

Thanks,
jc

Hi John

Check the Volume control on the VCR panel... from what you say this will probably be turned right down...

It regulates how loud the little speakeris and ... the headphones.

Regards

Gareth

I haven't done it with the 950, but I've monitored sound on a 900 with headphones while recording plenty of times and no problems. It sounds like your camera (if it's not the volume) may need repair.

That's what I'm afraid of too - on my PDX10 this works great. I was just wondering if Sony had disabled monitor-while-record to differentiate the 950 from the PDX10...

Sigh. That's what I was thinking as well. Now all I need to do is figure out a time when I can afford to be down a camera for a while.

Anybody know how long it takes Sony to turn around a repair?
