PDX10 vs. HC1 low light sensitivity?

Wow does the new HC1 compare to the PDX10 in low light. Theoretically the HC1's single 1/3" cmos should be a little more light sensitive than the three 1/4.7 CCDs of the PD10. Is this the case in actual practice or are they (as I suspect) about equal?

What does Sony's literature say about the low light requirements for the HC1 Laurence? They clain 1 lux for the VX2100 and 7.5 lux for the PDX10, which is somthing in excess of 3.5 stops.

I would expect a single chipper to be more light senstitive as there's three less prisms to pass the light through for starters.

Well both the PDX10 and the HC1 are rated at about 7 lux, so they should be exactly the same. I just wondered about the experience of anyone who has compared both cameras in low light. If they are truly about the same in low light, the PD10's three CCDs might give it a picture quality advantage in SD mode.

This might all be theoretical since the PDX-10 is getting hard to find. Sony claims they are still making them, but B&H and some other vendors are out of stock. B&H is expecting more supposedly. Sony's European website indicates that the PAL model has been discontinued, but the NTSC model is still listed on Sony's US website.
