I am able to get the page up but no play action on the quicktime player. It may be I need to enable a setting I do not have on at this point. I take it these are Q-time stills?

Ok, I started a separate thread up asking this question, but I didn’t get a response. Maybe someone here knows. What aspect ratio does this progressive mode shoot in?

it's always 4:3, does'nt depend on camera settings

I made the test with my TRV 950 E (PAL)
with Premiere 6.02 and with Vegas Video 4.0.

Premiere said that the clip recorded in the memory mode
via 1394 to the HD, is interlaced.

Vegas Video said that it was progressive 25p.

And the difference is really clear.

The clip recorded with the memory mode looks more
like "film" and there are almost no vertical lines/stripes
visible.

So, this thing really works and improves the quality
of the captured clips.

Grettings from Marc in old europe.
