Internal Battery on PD150
 

I found the manual online and on page 157 it said to plug the camera in for 24 hours. I did what it said, however the internal battery is not holding a charge.

Does anyone know the location in the camera to get at it to change it, and can it be changed -- or is it hard wired in? The manual is of course silent on tech stuff.

If memory serves from an earlier thread on this issue, I think it's a factory job only -- the battery is hidden in a board secured behind a panel on the side of the camera and is designed not to be user-replaceable.

Ouch! -- sounds expensive. any ideas where I could send it -- some trusted place?

Aside from Sony, the name you hear most often is Armato's, in NJ.

Armatos in NYC is probably one of the best. But camera owners have done this themselves. IIRC, it is in a battery holder, not soldered in place.

I'm pretty sure this page shows the exploded view of the top handle where the cells are stored. They last about 4 to 5 years and then need to be replaced.

Shouldn't be too difficult to dismantle it. Girls put them together, so boys can take them apart I say.

As a final note to this thread, I sent it to Armatos and for around $200, they cleaned, lubed, adjusted, and changed the internal battey. I'd say they are the best!
